RE: Latest S & P 500 Count
Hi Spike, Your final c4 looks like a 5 to me going down to 3 tick level. The dow is similar with what looks an ok 'b' wave to the top following. We are splitting hairs here though - except if you are right a top is in, if I'm right a top could either be very close indeed or we can just keep churning up. I could comment more looking across markets but best not for now. Good weekend all.

Dan

Thanks for pointing that out Dan. Until I get this tick data of mine sorted out the smallest frame I got is 1min. Its really strange, the highs and lows in cetain parts dont match up at all to the minute charts. Anyway take care and thanks once again.

Hi Finster.

Im undecided on one c4. (the part Ive put in a white rectangle in the chart below), perhaps you could shed some light on it. If thats a c4 then Im with you on the same count. So Im waiting for a close below 1151.41 to at least support it in some way. So this is what I have so far.

I agree 1151 is currently the key level. There was a lot of overlap in the white rectangular area...it gave me trouble too, which is one of the main reasons I said I wasn't all that confident in my count.

New High. So, either: (1) our count was wrong; (2) the new rule doesn't work; or (3) the new rule used to work, but now that there are nothing but computers trading against one another all day social behavior is no longer accurately portrayed in the market.

For now, I will continue to go with number 1, but having been at this for many, many months I certainly can't say that #2 and/or #3 is not correct.

Don't buy in to the latest hype about computer trading. Smile

You'll see it will come around to include some more unnecessary
regulation from Congress in the end.

Some food for thought:

A) There are already triggers to halt trading if there is mass panic

B) The degree of scale now constructing Cycle pieces very near to
a Supercycle pivot Requires extreme volatility

C) People program the computers

So yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

He was around in the 1930's and still around today and he makes the
NEWR work all the time.

Wink

PS. I was in the hospital for 6 days and am recuperating at home.
It was one of those minor things that you don't know is going to
become serious so you don't take the proper steps right away.

Thanks to 3kings for doing some moderating during that time.

Smile
