Long Term Carry Trade
What happened to the Long Term Carry Trade?

I believe we have one just getting under way on Eur/Gbp.

Currently basing at .8315 I look for this to exceed the .9800 mark
and with a nice spread, high pip value and paying some swap at
various brokers it would rival the UJ carry trade enjoyed for some time.

Tom,

Hi Theory

Reading between the lines 9804 is the rtb of a 5th. That would put us having just completed C4 of the Final 5th which has to be >9804.

Have taken a look at the last move down- chart attached for the end so seems a goer with stop below 8285

Thanks for the heads up Tom

Cheers

USD,

My interpretation is as follows.

From 8292 to 8312 counts as 1 2 3 A then retrending? +? +? , so potential C of 4.

Then there is a lower Low at just above 8285, so it must be a C of 4 simply because in contained a retrended A.

That's the 123 solid A + retrending? I was on about before, the presence of the A is the vital clue.

The Pivot, at some degree, is confirmed once it moves above 8312 and then the market is very kind because it drops back to ~ 8300.

Risk 15, reward 1500 if this is the final 5th of the C4......

cheers theory

Tom- Can you post your chart? I think it would really help us all out to see how you came up with this call.

Tom- This call looks fabulous so far. Can you please show us your chart, or tell us what you made you so confident in your call?

RE: Long Term Carry Trade
I have been following this trade up for a short while Smile and after the last strong push I got out, and just in time as it turned out.

Counting the movement since the 26th I see an A down to morning of 27th, B up to morning of 28th (messy). It looks to me that we may have completed 5th down of the C with the RTB occurring early this morning (BST). We are now at a 38.2% retracement of the last big wave up.

Would anyone care to offer opinion on this?

Thanks
Ray

Hi Ray

This is how I have it . A break of 8530'ish means I am wrong as 3 of A would be the shortest
